Live exceedingly well

I help people simplify health by focusing on the things that matter most: food, movement, sleep, and stress. The goal is to help you understand what works for you so you can feel better without fear, rules, or confusion.

Start with what matters

There is always something else to try. Another trend, another supplement, another ingredient to avoid, another snack to buy, or another thing someone says you need to be healthy.
What works well for someone else may not be what works best for you. One person may feel great eating avocado while you may not. Gluten may be a problem for someone else and completely fine for you. The same goes for sleep, stress, movement, relationships, and so much more.
That is why I like to bring it back to the basics and figure out what actually works for you.

Food

Food should nourish you, leave you feeling good after you eat, and still be something you can enjoy without constantly wondering what you are doing wrong.
This is not about being perfect or following a long list of things you can and cannot eat. It is about understanding what works for you and your body, and meeting you where you are with what you need.

Sleep

Sleep affects everything you do. It is the reason you can show up well, think clearly, recover, and have the energy to move through your day.
Being in bed for 8 hours does not always mean you are getting 8 hours of meaningful sleep. Many people are carrying some level of sleep debt without realizing it, and that can affect everything from energy and mood to recovery and how your body feels.

Movement

We have overcomplicated movement. Sometimes it is a 10 minute walk, a few push ups, a short core workout, 5 pound dumbbells, or a YouTube workout at home.
The goal is to remove the friction, start small, and find ways to move that leave you feeling better instead of completely worn out. It is much easier to stay consistent with something you actually want to do again.

Stress

Stress is part of everyday life, even when you do not feel stressed. A commute in traffic, family problems, dealing with employees, a packed schedule, a tense conversation, or even watching a close ballgame can all add to what your body is carrying.
A big part of your health is influenced by that stress. Your pace of life, daily responsibilities, relationships, sleep, and how much you are constantly asking of yourself all matter.

Hey Friend,

Matt here

My mom called me Matty, and she is a big part of how I got here. There is more to that story, but it is also where Matty B began.

I’m a certified health coach focused on helping people simplify their health and build better relationships with food, movement, sleep, and stress. I have learned there is a lot of value in getting back to the basics, asking questions, staying curious, trying things, letting go of what is not working, and keeping what does.

Health is also bigger than what you eat or what you weigh. Your relationships, faith, environment, pace of life, and how you show up for the people around you all matter. When one area is struggling, it often starts to affect the others.

That is why I like to look at both sides of the picture. What are you doing that may not be helping, and what might be missing that could help you feel better? There is no single answer that works for everyone, and I think that is where the conversation should start.

Health Should Support Your Life.

I believe taking care of your health should feel simple and even enjoyable, not like another box to check after taking care of your kids, your spouse, your family, your work, and everything else asking for your attention.

Health information is everywhere, and a lot of it can leave you feeling like what you are doing is wrong, not enough, or simply not working. Cookies are bad. Seed oils are bad. This ingredient causes inflammation. You need to do this to burn fat. You need to take this supplement to have more energy. It becomes a never ending cycle that leaves all of us feeling like we are behind.

That kind of fear and confusion can make taking care of yourself harder, not easier. This is not the kind of health I want you to build.

I want to help you understand what matters and make choices that work with you, not against you. Perfection is not real, but health has become another place where we are constantly trying to achieve it.

Your health is important. It is part of your life, but it is not meant to consume your entire life or become your only focus.
